We all know that there is no GUI for SAPCAR so far. It would be a lot easier if there was a DLL library or so, to write a program GUI. Anyway I found out some people made this thing working with manipulating the registry. Well it is OK, but I found an easy & better solution for me: 1. Get SAPCAR.EXE. Trying to install NW on SUSE and struggling with SAPCAR. Apologies as I'm an ABAPer with absolutely no Linux skills. Downloaded SAPCAR (SAPCAR_84.EXE) and tried to execute to unpack SWPM (SWPM10SP20_3-20009701.SAR). I used the following com.

I am really happy that I sat down to watchthis movie. Seeking a Friend for the End of the World' is a definiteto-watch-movie for any movie aficionado, because it is very beautifuland moving in many ways. All the money in the world movie in atlanta. As was KeiraKnightley, and their chemistry on the screen was just sizzling. The movie also boasts some rather great cameo appearances, all of whomreally helped adding to the movie, by actors and actresses such as RobCorddry, Patton Oswalt, William Petersen and, of course, Martin Sheen.'

I have downloaded parches what are SAR files. See the complete thread for the answer. Regards From: irfraz via sap-basis [mailto:sap-basis@Groups.ITtoolbox.com] Sent: 16 January 2009 17:27 To: D.

Or, launch SAPCAR from the folder where it resides. OR, add the path to the command. For Example, if the SAPCAR utility is in the 'C: XLSAPCAR' folder, type this. It's good 'branding' (they are very consistent about it. And so it makes sense that they would prefer.SAR (SAP archive) to.CAR (maybe 'compressed archive'? Or in German?) SAPCAR.EXE already has 'SAP' clearly identified.

If you are interested in these features especially in Easyzip 2000 - which is freeware - have a look. Unfortunately, they are not able to compress and decompress CAR and SAR files.

The only two exceptions to this are: During extraction, SAPCAR checks the file name extensions of the archives you want to extract from. The extensions '.CAR' and '.SAR' are both valid. The option '-s' for checking the free space on the target filesystem is only valid for displaying the contents of an archive. The option is no longer valid for extracting files. For example, the command 'SAPCAR -tsf ARCIVE.SAR' is valid, but the command 'SAPCAR -xsf ARCHIVE.SAR' is invalid. • Pay attention to the fact that the archive format changed for SAPCAR.

I used the following command: linux-bhaq:/usr/SAP_Download # SAPCAR_84.EXE -xfv SWPM10SP20_3-20009701.SAR I get the following error: If 'SAPCAR_84.EXE' is not a typo you can use command-not-found to lookup the package that contains it, like this: cnf sapcar I've tried renaming the executable to just 'sapcar' - get the same error message. Also tried to open up all of the permissions to both sapcar and the.SAR file.

So, it is advisable to switch - even in older releases - to the newer toolkit named SAPCAR, because SAP sometimes delivers even for older releases SAR Files already.

But after I had cpied the files to the 'trans' folder, and ran the command C:usr sap trans>sapcar -xvf.*SAR, I was told that 'sapcar' is not recorgnised as an internal or external command operable programme or batch file.

SAPCAR.EXE already has 'SAP' clearly identified.

Use always the newest available SAPCAR release compatible to your operating system. You can download a patched version of SAPCAR from the SAP Service Marketplace: -> Support Packages and Patches -> Browse Our Download Catalog -> Additional Components -> SAPCAR. Then add the SAPCAR version for your OS to the Download Basket. Note that the downloadable file is tagged with the.exe extension for all OS platforms because of software center naming conventions. On UNIX platforms you have to delete the extension and to rename the file to SAPCAR because this is the official tool name which is known by other SAP tools on UNIX platforms. The downloadable file is not compressed so you may run it without extracting it before.

Please, give my something to pass it.

If the server and PC are both Windows (or *NIX) then this is not a consideration. It is (generally) better to decompress into a temporary target directory and then move the decompressed files into their desired target location. From the SAP Service Marketplace software download page, choose Search for Software. In the search window, type SAPCAR, and then choose Search. • According to the replacement of CAR, the extension of the archive files delivered by SAP changes from '.CAR' to '.SAR' for files concerning R/3 Release 4.6C or higher. • The command line interface of SAPCAR is downward compatible with the command line interface of CAR.
