If anyone out there is haveing the same problem i did, its because new windows is not compatible with the old school DRM (piracy protection) that the sims used. (DISC checks will basically always fail and the game will never launch). There was a fix, i had to find a new version of the sims EXE file that bypasses the DISC check and swap it out with the sims exe file that installed with the rest of the program files. After that the game ran perfectly.

I have tried the directions below but my antivirus wont allow it. Please make this a priority or make a patch so we can enjoy not just this game or the many others that fit in this category.
